Bespoke WordPress development for Motive PR

Motive PR is an award-winning PR agency based in Nottingham, working with businesses and organisations across the UK.

With a new website design ready to go, Motive approached me to handle the WordPress development and bring the project to life.

The goal was to create a flexible, easy-to-manage website that gave the Motive team plenty of control over their content while staying true to the supplied design.

The project

Motive’s website has a lot to accommodate.

Alongside the agency’s core services, the site showcases its client work, introduces the growing Motive team and provides a home for news, insights and the latest work coming out of the agency.

My job was to take the supplied designs and build everything into WordPress, thinking carefully about how each part of the website should work behind the scenes as well as how it appears to visitors.

Rather than treating every page as a one-off, I built the site around reusable components and structured content that could continue to serve the team long after launch.

Making WordPress work for the team

A big part of the project was making sure Motive had the flexibility to manage the website themselves.

I used Advanced Custom Fields throughout the build to create an editing experience tailored specifically to the content on the site.

Reusable content sections allow pages to be built and updated while retaining the consistency of the original design, while dedicated areas of WordPress make it straightforward to manage services, work, team members and articles.

This means the team isn’t locked into rigid page templates or reliant on a developer whenever something needs changing.

Bringing everything together

With a website of this size, there are plenty of smaller details beyond simply getting the pages into WordPress.

Templates, reusable components, responsive layouts and dynamic content all needed to work together consistently across the site.

I also handled the technical side of getting the finished website ready for launch, making sure the new site could replace the previous one smoothly and giving the Motive team a solid foundation to continue building on.

The result

Motive’s new website launched in September 2026, giving the agency a completely new online home for its work, services, team and content.

Most importantly, the website isn’t something Motive has to come back to a developer to update. The CMS has been built around the way the site actually works, giving the team control over the content while keeping the design consistent as it evolves.

It’s been brilliant working with another Nottingham business on a project of this scale, and I’m really pleased to see the new Motive website out in the wild.
